Saturday 5/31 to 6/5

Thought the traffic would be a pain, but really very little out. Caught 12 fish over by Marina on 3" senko on the outside; wind was still still which is important. If wind blowing against dock fis, inside like I did today (6/5); another story. The marina may save your bacon if you aren't doing any good. It is slow and you have to wade thru a bunch of fish. But I have had at least 3- 3# fsih plus a bunch of other keepers in the last week.

Fish all the way back in totally empty slips. Wind dead fish outside; 3" senko, 1/8 oz bullet weight. let it sink to about 15' and reel back very slowly. 50% of fish came on reel back. Haven't fished anything but the first long set of docks on left going in; might try some of others tomorrow or this weekend.

Down past the park is a small multi-residential dock on left in back. I have had several good keepers there. There is a really good hump straight across from docks that got looked over last week many times; check your maps.

Drops/humps have been dead since we first hooked up; but lots of pressure every where I turn around. Fisher guys are getting smarter.

Fished long point you were interested in today and didn't have a bump. Stayed off of middle point up river and the log as we discussed. Did fish point to right down river with jig, crank, and senko with no results. A little unusual really for June.

I think one of the strongest patterns is the 3" senko on floating docks even though you have to wade thru a bunch of fish.

Did catch several fish on a deep crank bait today, but nothing notable. My take on crank bait is sit in 20' and slow crank. I really think these fish are in transition.

A good paatern for the first 3 weeks of June inthe past is to get on a bluff bank and skip a 1/4 blk/blu jig under and around rock and low hanging limbs for suspended bass. Mid-June should be about right.

Since you don't have a wrap on your boat, dress down and try that in practice. Act like a crappy guy!! If you have to go above Concord I would be very surprised.

Ask any thing you feel necessary. This is a public blog, open to all

By the way, those docks back on right in back of the creek really can be rewarding. The creek channel as it is is just in front of them. Key feature!!

6/6 Tough day today. Fished humps and drops; graphed a lot and showed plenty of fish but they were definitely turned off. Finally about 4 caught 4 fish on point across from Lenoir City park using green jig.

I changed the presentation. I normally hop it once or twice, but started shaking it with 4 or 5 real quick twitches which seem to make the difference. Soooooo subtle a change.

I think fishing is going to be tough over the next few weeks!!

I still believe docks are going to key to catching a good limit. Use senkos and jigs. There are a gazillion docks so look for the ones near fairly deep water or those that have creek channel close by like I previously stated.
